Apparel

First and foremost i’m a huge Patta fan so for me to be able to see the ins and outs of how it is they work their well established brand is like gold to me. Take a look of a preview of their “Get Familiar” documentary. I’m one that certainly can’t wait to see the full length of this film.

NOW & THEN

Yesterday, the Denver / L.A based brand “Now & Then” released their Spring 2014 Collection. I was so quick to purchase some items because it was certain to me that they’ll sell out. Creator Alex Bortz developed such clean feel & such wide range of products you have quite the amount to choose from. Let alone the quantity of products, the quality of them looked properly developed in the sense that each product was mastered. From social network analyzes the (Love Hate Workers Jacket) is the favorite out of the collection. In reference to Henry Rollins arm tattoo “some kind of love, some kind of hate” printed in the back of the jacket. Via twitter Alex Bortz announced that this collection is one he is certainly proud of. That being said, you’re definitely in for some thoroughly development garments.

 DISTRICT GOODS

Greetings! It’s been sometime since I last updated the blog. As a return I thought I’d introduce to some readers and maybe update some others in the LA based brand “District Goods.” They released their Spring 2014 Collection yesterday March 10th, and it was very well developed. My favorite piece of the collection is the Technique T-Shirt you see along the left side picture. I certainly loved the fonts used to the image itself. Along side some wonderful embroidered hoodies, hats, and a lovely bucket hat with satin lined interior. Head on over to their webshop and take a look at all products and lookbook. Enjoy.

Stay Dirty’s Holiday/Winter Collection released two days ago that I feel bad to just now be sharing it. Not only are the pieces premium cut & sewed (made in U.S) but the photography creativity had some familiar FS fellas from Denver; Jan Gatewood (Young Duckits) & Alex Bortz (Now & Then) The designs themselves are as great as always, they have such clean but rugged street/punk feel. Even incorporated a revised design of the Sonic Youth “GOO” cover. Along side a very nice 3M reflective print piece. So go ahead, you certainly want to head over to the webstore and make a couple purchases. (link below photos) Enjoy.

The lovely Amsterdam clothing brand Patta released a very well put together a/w 2013 collection a while ago that I keep looking back at wishing I had a piece. Not only is my man Vincent van de Waal one of my favorite designers, the creative direction they used for a women editorial was great. Only because I think that having women pose and shoot for Mens Apparel has now gotten a little to cheesy for my likings. We all know having a cute, decent looking girl will get more views than a typical guy so hey why not add that to my “business” like tactic. But as oppose to that, Patta was very clear in their website they didn’t use it in order to get more “views” a lot of Netherlands girls do really incorporate Patta pieces into their daily wardrobe so they say. What they did was give the women a barbie like style. While you scroll through the pictures you might think you’re in tumblr for a second of how the feel of the pictures are. The way the women were styled was better than throwing on a snapback or a beanie on the girls. That itself is just another cheesy add that people have being using. Another brand that incorporated a women for an editorial as well was the Los Angeles based Rare Panther. For their halloween release, they used a girl to model the shirt and in a photo of it was in an environment in which the girl seems to be unaware of her surroundings and two “non” creatures are approaching her. Another photo in which she is standing in front of semi and there are bodies on the ground wrapped around a white sheet full of blood. The use of girls for mens streetwear apparel has been used for different tactics but my favorite is to embody the fact that girls really do purchase and use the brand as oppose to just wearing it for a lookbook. Also as Rare Panther did it for the simple reason of being creative.

Pictures below explain what it is I was just talking about. Both Patta & Rare Panther links are below pictures.

Utilize women models properly. Enjoy.

The highly anticipated fall/winter FUCT “Due In Time” released today & I couldn’t be more excited to share it. As a few know fuct is my personal favorite. There is always so much love and meaning behind every release I absolutely love it. Due In Time is a play on words that they used for “doing time” as portrayed in the well constructed designs. Hope for the future. If I counted correctly they put together 16 different shirts, each one of them with the same root meaning but different leafs within them all. With a couple of pull overs, a zip up hoody, & a lovely jacket for this winter that’s ahead of us. Combination of hats, beanies & socks that make your accessories stand out. The lookbook was shot in Thailand, Bangkok. That there is another reason of why fuct is my favorite. Their lookbooks aren’t cliche’s, they really know how to interact with people and get regular “you & I” to be the models. Check out a few of the pieces below & of course be sure to visit their website. (link below all pictures) love.

It’s been a while since i’ve posted something on the blog but today the LA based Stay Dirty CO. released their fall collection & I loved it that I thought it should definitely be shared. It consist of some lovely pullovers and t-shirts. The concept of them all are very strong and bold. The positioning of the tag on the pull overs are positioned above the pocket and I don’t know whether it has a meaning behind it but I liked the idea of a new position. I suggest you head over to the online shop and make some purchases before they’re all gone.
